About Lexie
The first Australian bred female Dogue de Bordeaux to be awarded Best in Show at All Breeds Championship Show level.
"Perfect Bordeaux head" - Louis Pinto Teixeira (Portugal) - Dogue de Bordeaux breed specialist and French Club Match judge.
Mr Teixeira awarded Lexie Best Female and Runner-up Best of Breed at The Sydney Kennel Club Show, July 2016.
Lexie is the only girl from our Darius x Niki litter.
We are delighted with her, both with her breed type and her sound structure.
Lexie takes Best Minor Puppy in Group at the Allora Kennel Club Championship Show. She quickly added more classes in group to that, from both Open and Championship shows.
Lexie was awarded her first Championship points at only 8 months old. She achieved her 100 points and her Australian Champion title at age 13 months and 4 days with 2 x 11 point Challenges. Like many of our Dogues, she has achieved her title with no 6 point Challenges. She is beating females not only from our own kennel, but those from other kennels as well.
Lexie was awarded a 12 point Best of Breed at the Beaudesert Kennel Club Championship Show by Dr N Lemo (Croatia) with the comment "beautiful". Dr Lemo then awarded her Best Junior in Group.
At only 17 months old and still in the Junior Class, Lexie is awarded Runner-up Best of Breed at the 2013 Royal Brisbane Show by Mr H Lehkonen (Finland). There were 24 Dogues entered.
Lexie was awarded Runner-up Best in Group and Best Intermediate in Group at the Maree Kennel Club Championship Show by Mrs R. Hartmire (Qld). Lexie was only 20 months old at the time. We were quite thrilled with this result over strong competition both at breed and group level.
Following on from her Runner-up Best of Breed at the 2013 Brisbane Royal, Lexie took Challenge Bitch at the 2014 Royal under Mr Z Omarov (Georgia) and then Best of Breed at the 2015 Brisbane Royal under Mr A Savva (Cypris). Mr Savva also shortlisted her for Best in Group.
2016 saw Lexie take Runner-up Best of Breed at Sydney Royal under Mr P Svarstad (Sweden) and then Best of Breed at Toowoomba Royal under Mr F Pastor (Ecuador). Mr Pastor shortlisted her in the final five for Best in Group and then awarded her Best Open in Group.
She was also awarded Runner-up Best in Group by Mr John Sheppard (NSW) and Ms Carolyn Pearen (Qld). She then went to Sydney for the Sydney Kennel Club Shows where, for the second time, she was awarded a Class in Group by Dr Lemo (Croatia). The following day she was awarded Best Female and Runner-up Best of Breed by molosser specialist, Mr Teixeira (Portugal) with the comment "perfect Bordeaux head". (Interestingly, Mr Teixeira awarded her aunt, Urzula z Orisku, Best Female and Best Opposite Sex at the 2013 Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America National Speciality Show.)
Lexie attained the final point for her Grand Champion title in November 2016. As we compiled her results for submission to Dogs Queensland, we realised that like Tobias, she had achieved her 1000 points without a single 6 point challenge, meaning she has had to beat other Dogues for every point she achieved. She is only the second Dogue in Australia to achieve this.
Lexie is awarded Best in Group and then Best in Show in May 2017 at the Maryborough Kennel Club Championship Show, by Mrs Kerry Cannon (NSW). She makes breed history by becoming the first Australian bred bitch to achieve a Best in Show.
She is extremely outgoing and is very much a daddy's girl, as is evident by some of the photos below.

What's that?
Resting with dad.

Looking down my nose at the world.
That looks interesting.
Makes me laugh.
