About Scully
Scully is our very first Dogue. She was called Scully after Dana Scully (X Files) as she
was a young, beautiful, intelligent redhead. (Some days I think oh boy – did we get
that wrong…LOL) She has an extremely outgoing personality and absolutely loves to be
the centre of attention. You can’t just pat her once, she pushes her head under your
hand and demands more. She’s not past throwing herself at your feet to get her tummy tickled.
Scully has done well at obedience, reaching a high level in training, without ever being trialed.
She has also done introductory agility classes, but we discovered that she did not enjoy it,
that she prefers to keep her feet on the ground.
She did not start her show career until she was 17 months old and won Best of Breed at her
first show. She was described by All Breeds judge and President of the CCC(Q), the late
Judith McMurtrie, as being one of the soundest Dogues she had ever judged.
Scully is a big solid girl, with a deep chest, very good topline and superb movement.
She loves being the centre of attention in the show ring and moves accordingly. She has
done well under both national and international judges and has amassed over 370 points in the ring.
One of our personal highlights was when she attained her Australian Championship title at
the New Years Eve show in December 2002. To say that Keith was thrilled was an understatement
– he came out of the ring shaking! She’s certainly daddy’s girl!
****************
6 October 2006 - Scully died of bloat in the car on the way to the vets. I just couldn't get her
there fast enough.
